The West Modesto/King Kennedy Neighborhood Collaborative (WMKKNC) Certifi­ed Farmers Market was established in 2009. It takes place July through September annually at the Mellis Park in West Modesto, site of the King Kennedy Memorial Center and home to the WMKKNC.Vendors are welcome to participate in the Farmers Market, and it’s open to those authorized to accept WIC Farmers Market Nutritional Program vouchers and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and those accepting cash payments.

The Certifi­ed Farmers Market is conducted in partnership with Project-Uplift (Utilizing Positive Leaders to Inspire Future Talent) student mentor group.Project-Uplift students assist in growing vegetables for the market. The students work with the Farm Manager to learn more about agriculture and understand and appreciate agriculture as an industry, business and supplier of much needed produce.
