In partnership with Mark Twain Junior High School, six youth are identified and chosen to participate in the Wellness Project each year. The Mark Twain Project is supported by the Stanislaus Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Workforce Education and Training Program. A mental health education program for 7th and 8th grade students designed to provide mental health education to reduce stigma, labeling, and discrimination. Students also participate in field trips, community service, and learn about careers in the mental health field.
Schedule: Every Tuesday. Hybrid Classes.
In partnership with The Gallo Center for the Arts and Modesto City Schools, West Modesto Community Collaborative has begun this youth program which is a unique blend of theater training and leadership development, designed to empower 8th through 12th grade students. Through a variety of interactive workshops, team-building exercises, and role-playing activities, students will learn to develop their self-esteem, develop their creative talents, and become more effective leaders. With the skills they learn within this program, students will be equipped to pursue careers in the arts, business, or any field they choose.
